Pessoa English Saddles
Howdy horse lovers! We are back with yet another little article for every one of you horse lovers out there today. Whether it is that you love to ride or ride to love, everyone and I do mean everyone has some sort of interest in horses. If you own a horse or not, you will surely want to read on.
The topic here is Pessoa English saddles. We will be covering what type of saddle this is, where it originated from and who uses it. Well, maybe not in that order but you will indeed get the drift. So let us get started.
The whole Pessoa English saddle story came about when a very well-known horse named “untouchable” which was ridden by Cathy Kusner, (She was an American champion rider) decided that it wanted to leave it's rider behind and go and take a swim in the Bay of Angles. I guess the horse was pretty hot that day! This happened at a horse show in Nice France back in nineteen sixty-two I believe. That must have been quite a sight to see indeed! Imagine having a horse do something like that to you?
It sounds like that horse had quite an attitude! Now let us get back to the story. The saddle was then given to a man named Nelson Pessoa the next day. He claimed that he was interested in the make of the saddle and had wanted to study it. When it was given to him however, it was still soaked with water from the horse's little swim in the bay. Can you imagine?
For those of you who are unaware of this, Nelson Pessoa was extremely interested in this particular saddle because he liked the design, it was steeple chased based and it seemed that it was a lot lighter than his own design which was kind of like a Danloux saddle.
Now when Nelson noticed that it was wet, he still wanted to try it. As the story goes, this is how he came to realize the first part of his “close-contact saddles” which in turn is called the Pessoa English saddle. And the rest as they say “is history”.
Many people in the horse riding profession absolutely swear that this main design is the key to winning in these competitions. Whether it be show riding or even regular riding, from champion riders to people who are armature riders.
Nelson's style of riding is classical and continues to make many riders wish to be like him. There have been many, many champion riders who only wish to use his saddles and none other. Nothing else will do as far as they are concerned! With good reason wouldn't you say? Always go for the best! Nelson Pessoa is a perfectionist in many ways and it shows in the highly polished craftsmanship of his creations. Every one of the ideas he comes up with are always original and sure to be something that you absolutely need to have in order to win!
